About Yaakov

Yaakov Barr, a highly regarded psychotherapist specializing in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), holds a Master's degree (MSc) from the University of London. Accredited by the BABCP, he has established himself as a clinical supervisor for the organization, actively contributing to the professional growth of fellow therapists. With extensive experience in mental health advocacy, Yaakov is a respected psychology columnist and a senior lecturer for the Forward-Today CBT training course, where he imparts his wealth of knowledge to therapists worldwide.

In 2021, Yaakov founded JTeen, an organization dedicated to nurturing the emotional well-being of Jewish teenagers in the UK and Europe. Serving as the clinical director and CEO, he oversees initiatives such as a support line, workshops, and training programs for parents and teachers. His commitment to mental health extends to having sat on an all-parliamentary committee relating to children along with previously serving as a reviewer for the esteemed BABCP international journal.

Yaakov upholds the highest standards of confidentiality and trust in his comprehensive care for both adults and adolescents. Jacob's early career includes training within the NHS and receiving the esteemed Barnet Community Volunteer Award in 2010. 

With a forthcoming book on adolescent mental health set to be released in April 2024, Yaakov’s multifaceted credentials have allowed him to explore and create a series of proven, therapeutic techniques that seamlessly blend the best of modern psychology with the timeless wisdom of Chazal.
