Today I am sharing important insights from a recent survey conducted by The National Security Ministry, the National Child Protection Online Authority, and the Chief Scientist's Office regarding the impact of the war on children: Poll: 60% of children harmed by internet content about the war
The findings reveal a concerning trend: a significant number of children in Israel have been exposed to harmful content online amid the war in Israel. The proliferation of distressing images, videos, and conversations on social media platforms has left a profound impact on the mental well-being of young people.
As a psychotherapist and CEO of JTeen, this survey resonates deeply with my experiences supporting teens through challenging times. I've witnessed firsthand the emotional toll of exposure to harmful content, with many young people grappling with anxiety and intrusive thoughts as a result.
In response to these findings, it's crucial that we prioritize the mental health and well-being of our youth. We must work together to create safe online environments and provide resources for coping and resilience-building.
Let's continue to advocate for the protection of children online and ensure they have the support they need to navigate these challenging times with strength and resilience.
